ADVENTURE WITH ME »

Here are some photos I have taken from the beautiful places I like to visit. I don't get out much due to the heat here in the desert so when I am able to, I realy treasure those moments. They may not be the best photos, and I don't claim to be a professional photographer by any means, but these are the snapshots to my life. Click on the photos if you want to open them up in full size.

VALLEY OF FIRE »

Nevada's First State Park. 46,000 acres of geologic wonder. Complex uplifting and faulting of the region, followed by extensive erosion, have created the present landscape. The rough floor and jagged walls of the park contain brilliant formations of eroded sandstone and sand dunes more than 150 million years old. Other important rock formations include limestones, shales, and conglomerates. There are even 2,000 year old petroglyphs!

RED ROCK CANYON »

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area lies within Nevada's Mojave Desert. It's known for geological features such as towering red sandstone peaks and the Keystone Thrust Fault as well as petroglyphs. The highest point is La Madre Mountain at 8, 154 feet (2,485 m).

SPRING MOUNTAINS »

This section would technically include Red Rock as well, but that place has it's own recreation area. I'm going to use this section to show off photos I've taken from up in the hills. Mount Charleston, Mount Potosi, Kyle Canyon, etc..

MAGICAL NIPTON, CALIFORNIA »

A really small "town" near the NV/CA border. The population is barely double digits and it's been for sale a few times over the last several years. The last time it was open, it hosted a lot of old Burning Man art. A really nice stop, especially when you've been out in the desert and want to sit down on a real toilet lol

TULE SPRINGS »

Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs is a 2,040-acre park in Las Vegas, Nevada. The park is centered on Tule Springs, a series of small lakes that formed an oasis in this part of the Mojave Desert. This is my favorite local place to visit in the autumn season. I'm obsessed with all of the changing leaves.
