Letters from the Road

Fi's seen a lot of weird stuff on the road with her family! Here are some of her emails.

Hello fellow cybersurfers,

We're on the way to Park City and I have got a BIG SECRET! Please please please nobody tell mom, but I think we're going to see TAD RAXALL, can you believe it?!?! For the three people in the world who don't know, he's the CEO of Star.Dot.Star Software, Inc. -- they make the coolest stuff on the web -- in fact they make just about EVERYTHING now. (Their browser, Universal Gateway, is way better than those OTHER two, and the Star.Dot.Seek search engine is the fastest on the net. The TownBuilder program is very cool, too.) Anyway, mom wrote that jingle that you hear all the time, back when she was a suit, and I think we're going to go visit him!! I hear he's been working on some totally new networking software -- I'm so psyched!

Hey fellow webheads,

I have once again met the King of Cyberspace, and he's... well, he's kinda nutty, but he's really sweet. Mom took us to see Tad Raxall, at the Star.Dot.Star Software Inc. corporate HQ in Simplicity, Utah, so she could try to get him to stop using the jingle she wrote (yes, THAT jingle, the one you hear all the time). But Tad was having such a terrible time that she ended up forgetting about all that. I guess everybody else believes what Tad said about his competitors trying to prevent him from putting out his new global networking software, but you heard it here first: his problem is GREMLINS. Well, I think it is, anyway; they ARE invisible, but it all adds up -- the same little critters who are rumored to have been messing up technology for the whole 20th Century are now going after the guy who believes he can link every human being through their computers. Tad didn't buy it, but at least we got out of there with our bus. Maybe I'll convince him next time we pass that way.
