"Prophecy" is a Greek word that means "to speak before", to tell of things to come (I looked it up). And a lot of folks have tried to do just that: Cassandra, Nostradamus, not to mention Jeane Dixon, foretelling celebrity divorces for the tabloids. Sometimes predictions are so vague that it's impossible to say they WEREN'T accurate; often they're just dismissed as coincidence.
Consider the book "Futility, or, The Wreck of the Titan", written by Morgan Robertson and published in 1898. In his book - a work of fiction -- an "indestructible" 880 foot-long ship called the Titan, departs port on an April day, carrying "as few lifeboats as would satisfy the law" (24 - half of what was needed); the ship later hits an iceberg in the North Atlantic, while travelling at 25 knots, and more than half of its 2,500 passengers drown. Fourteen years later, the "unsinkable" and very real Titanic (882 feet long) departs on April 12 for the North Atlantic, carrying 20 lifeboats; it later hits an iceberg while travelling at 23 knots and sinks. More than half of its 2,207 passengers drown. Was Robertson having an unwitting vision of the future? And if he was, what was it he was seeing?
Does the future already exist somewhere, unchangeable? If it does, that means we don't really have free will, that we're just little robots, playing out some kind of cosmic movie that was written in advance. Does that seem possible to you? I can't believe it, myself; plus I have it on pretty good authority that the future ISN'T inevitable, that we can change anything…
