About

Fi's seen a lot of weird stuff on the road with her family! Here are some of her favorite weird stories.
PS: These stories are fictional and were created as episodes of a paranormal TV show back at the end of the 90s. All credit belongs to their writers at Disney.

Alien Visits

I just stayed up all night reading "Communion", by Whitley Strieber. (Who ever had the brains to read this stuff during the day like they should?) Strieber -- who writes fiction novels FOR A LIVING, by the way -- claims he was visited by aliens in his very own bedroom, and eventually got abducted, probed, the whole thing. I don't know; if it DIDN'T really happen, then he's a heckuva good writer. Strieber's not alone in saying he's had contact with aliens, of course; there have been over 18,000 sightings in the US, and over 100,000 people claiming contact, including Jimmy Carter and Dwight Eisenhower (and we all know politicians would NEVER lie!). But there have been sightings going way back through history -- Christopher Columbus thought he saw a UFO -- it even goes back to a detailed description of what seems (to us) to be a UFO, in the bible. That's what's so interesting to ME; I mean, people say that UFO's must be fake because we only started hearing reports of them in the 20th century, when we realized spaceships were possible. (Actually Jules Verne got a head-start on just about everything in the 19th century.) But that isn't true at all; it's more like the vocabulary has changed over the centuries -- nowadays if we see a ball of lighting floating through the sky, we tend to think in terms of alien visitation. But a few thousand years ago, people would have seen those things as "angels", or explained it in some other way that grew out of their culture or religion. (Job described his "UFO" very much in angelic terms.) And there are PLENTY of reports of that kind of stuff throughout history. Then beyond that, there are cave paintings of "ancient astronauts" -- which appear to be of non-human creatures wearing space suits -- and all kinds of stuff that got built (like the Egyptian pyramids, or the stone heads on Easter Island) that make it seem like there must have been some kind of other-worldly help or guidance. All of which doesn't answer this question: If aliens HAVE been coming to earth for thousands of years, why? What do they want? To get something... or to give it?
